nexus 7 will not charge

[Android Question]

Nexus 7- i have tried all the tricks and it still will not charge or power on. the battery icon is static no bolt or pulsing to indicate charging and when i try to power on it just cycles from "google' to "X" and back over and over. removed the back cover and checked battery connection. could the battery just be bad?

Sounds like you may be boot-looping, we need a Forum member with N7 experience to help out here.

For your charging problem ill suggest you to try the following one by one till you solve your problem:

1- Try a new or different USB cable
1- Clean your Device USB port.
2- Try a new or different battery.

If none of the above worked, then i would say your USB port is damage and needs repair, even though it doesn't look damage from the outside.
