I looked at the video posted. I don't want a bunch of flares moving across the home screen on Android 2.1. It is horrible looking and very distracting to finding the icon you want to click on.

Pretty sure you can go with a non-animated wallpaper.
There are plenty non moving ones in the 2.1 dump.
