We’re less than an hour away from the Nexus One press conference and we already know so much – at least we think we do. Google could have easily blown the hinges off this event by calling the phone “The gPhone” and playing their hand a little closer to their chest. But could Google [...]

If would be interesting to see Google have something hiding up it's sleeve, but I doubt it. With all the reviews and dev models that have been floating around I don't think we'll see any "big" surprises.

I hope it doesn't make me regret buying my Droid last week! :p

Looks good, wonder if we will see this on all carriers?

DROID and other phones will get Nexus One software (I assume this means all the voice stuff in 2.1, Google Earth, etc) when it is open sourced "in the next few days".

Hopefully VZW gets an update for 2.1 out really quickly!

Only surprise it is being on vzw in spring 2010.

Also the engadget review said it is only marginally better than the droid in terms of performance.

I love my Droid and according to the guys at the conference "everyone" is getting 2.1 "within a couple of days"

The guys at engadget are heavily biased, and their so called 'reviews' do need to be taken with a grain of salt. Seriously. They have been against google from the start, whats to stop them now?

Yes, Engadget reported something weird about the row of buttons on the bottom of the phone in their review. They said that you would continually press the area near the buttons and that would inadvertently activate the button. The reviewer said that the error was maddening when you are typing stuff. Like imagine typing out some text or email and you accidentally hit the home button without even hitting the home button. That would really mess up your text/email.
