Nexus one UK release date?

So everywhere ive looked seems to be saying the nexus one will be available at vodafone in APril, but its the last week of april and still theres no news.
Anyone have any idea of when its gonna be available here?
 
Even Vodafone don't know! Bet it'll still work out cheaper to buy outright and run on a SIM only deal though.
 
I'm regretting waiting for a UK release date.

I never had a reason to wait for the UK release date. Saying it may be more cost effective to get it from google direct but you must take into consideration that people want it on contract and the only way to do that in the UK would be for a UK carrier to have it.

Yeah, I know what you are saying but I've been stuck with my girl's POS phone for a month now waiting and I'd hate to give in, order from the US, only for it to be released a week later here. I'm stubborn like that. :)
 
Because it's at the forefront of Android development. Look how long it's taken HTC to get a 2.1 handset out, and the Hero is still on 1.6... the Desire will be lagging behind the N1 O/S wise.
 
That's something to weigh up, personally I'd rather have the hardware buttons and optical pad of the Desire with the older OS.
 
Apparently they won't be stocking official stuff, and will sell 'compatible' products instead.
