Nexus or SII!?!

Hello everyone, i know i have a bit a late decision for deciding to buy one of those phones as they are 2011 models :), but actually they do fit my needs very well, yet i'm confused between those two specialy both are getting the 4.1 JB update, i do however like the Vanilla Android on Nexus, but i do like the Specs of the SII more!!!!
Thanks for you advices :)

Nexus! Forget about S2 it's an outdated phone! In terms of hardware.. They both run at 1.2ghz some s2 run at 1.5 ghz but it doesn't make any difference.

S2 might have 8mp cam and expandable storage when Nexus has only 5mp but it has 720P display and 720p Front facing camera. S2 comes with VGA front facing cam..
Not to mention Nexus is getting 4.2 this month from what i've seen it's a pretty major update!

I hear Nexus is a tad slower thanks to its GPU.I am interested in this debate,on the fence and thinking about buying one of these two.

The most pressing concern really about these two phones is not performance but storage. Performance wise they should perform near identically, given that while the GPU on the SII is better, the TouchWiz skin is heavier and making it a tad slower than how it could actually perform, making performance just par. To counteract the first reply, if the SII was outdated, then so is the Galaxy Nexus because they run near identical performance hardware. The SII is not outdated.

The concern about storage is legitimate because the Nexus does not have expandable storage. If you get one, you should be really sure that the storage is enough, otherwise you'll end up getting frustrated at having not enough space.

Even the comparison provided by Digital Controller is more confusing, both are really good phones, and for the size, i don't know if the nexus is really big or it's size is good against the S2 for it's heavier too, but i do really think that the Vanilla Android is a good thing beside all custom UI for android

Look, as said before, performance wise, there isn't really anything differentiating them. As for size, only you can say if its too big for you. Personally I don't mind a Galaxy Note, so either phones won't be too big for me.

Prior to buying my Nexus,I had been considering an S2.
What finally swayed me was the pure android experience I would get with the GSM Nexus, and the fact that the GSM Nexus would always get updates 1st.
If these things matter to you as well then the Nexus is the way to go.

I'd say Nexus unless you need the expansion slot.

BTW, if you are buying now isn't it the Nexus 4 that we're talking about? Some of the replies apply to the Galaxy Nexus but not the N4 (e.g. comments about speed).
