Nexus S 4g on Metro?

So I'm thinking about buying a Nexus S and having it flashed to Metro. My question is, will the 4g work? My first thought was no, but I asked someone and Metro's website, and he said the Samsung Epic 4g , and the Nexus S would both work on Metro's 4g, and those were the only 2 phones that would.

Anyone know anything about this? I don't want to buy the phone just to find out he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Thanks in advance!

It won't work because the Nexus S uses WiMax. I'm surprised that someone on Metro's website would be misinforming people, but neither the Epic 4G nor the Nexus S would give you 4G since Metro's 4G network is LTE and Sprint's is WiMax (although not for much longer).

Talked to another person on Metro's site and again was misinformed :

lee: Thank you for contacting Metro PCS, my name is Lee, how may I assist you today?
you: Hello, I have a question. If I buy a Nexus S and have it flashed to Metro, will I get 4g service?
lee: Hi!
lee: yes, that is possible
you: Everywhere I have looked says no. Do you know who it's possible? Because the phone has uses Wimax and does not have LTE.
lee: Did you already visit a metro store?
you: No, I don't have the phone yet. I am thinking of buying it but don't want to if the 4g won't work.
lee: May I have your zip code in order to verify 4g coverage, please?
you: *****
lee: thank you
lee: one moment, plese
lee: please
lee: yes, you have the best 4g coverage
you: I know I have 4g coverage. My only question is how would the phone get 4g reception being that it uses Wimax and not LTE?
lee: yes, you will have the 4g reception.
you: So metro is compatible with Wimax?
lee: yes, correct.

I reported earlier that I noticed that metroPCS may get the Samsung Nexus. Samsung's website lists metroPCS as one of the carriers that would.

On 4g on a smartphone, NO. I have met some of the top flashers in Northern Cali, from Central, the Bay to Sac...all say NO. I don't believe what reps from any carriers tell me, they just want to sign you up. The 3g isn't bad. I can stream Pandora, Netflix, & online radio easily...clearly, depending on your area. So stop asking metro reps...in my area, they weren't aware that metro was no longer continue to flash phones...they had to hear it from a customer....
