Does the metro pcs s3 have the NFC in the battery or in the cover ? I want to buy a new battery but i dont know if paying a lil extra for having NFC in the battery is necessary or not. Also i wanted to change the back cover so i could do wireless charging. But again i dont know where the NFC in located

The verizon wireless phones are the only ones that have the wirelss back door im pretty positive there are mod videos all over youtube to mod other back doors and phones to accept the verizon back door and wireless charging.

So your NFC should be in the battery

Well, kinda true, but kinda misleading.

The stock Verizon S3 has the NFC antenna in the battery, like everyone else. You will see four contacts in the battery compartment, two for power, two for NFC antenna.

If you purchase the wireless charging back from Verizon, then it has ANOTHER NFC antenna in the back cover. The Verizon phone has a secondary contact that the NFC antenna in the back cover uses. Look right next to the SIM card and you will see two contacts.

This is because the wireless charging back cover has a magnet in it that covers the battery and blocks the NFC signal from reaching the battery. So Verizon has a second NFC antenna and contacts when using that cover.
