Does anyone know if Nintendo still supports the Wii? All I've heard about lately is games and news for their newer system.

Isn't the new wii U backwards compatible, i.e. if your wii breaks then you buy the wii U to replace it and still play the existing games?

Nah, its a console with a tablet as an additional remote control.

WiiU is definitely not a portable gaming system. It's a console with a tablet controller and a confusing name, and is compatible with Wii games. I read they aren't even making Wii consoles in Japan anymore. So, if you're thinking of getting one, the existing library is all you're going to get.

Does WiiU use the Wii controllers? I have 4 normal controllers and the enhanced controller modules for each.

Will U games will use the tablet controller. However, your old Wii motes are compatible with the console to play Wii games, and certain Wii U games for asynchronous multi-player.
