Help No 3G after HTC Magic Froyo update

Hi all,

I normally reside over in the HTC Desire forum but the girlfriend has an issue with her Magic.

It's a network unlocked but Vodafone branded handset which she's been happily using on O2 PAYG for ages.

Today she received the Froyo 2.2.1 update which has installed without issue but there's no 3G at all. She's on the network for basic 2G calls and stuff but no sign of 3G data connectivity.

I checked the APN settings which were missing completely and have entered what I presume are the correct ones for O2 but there's still no 3G.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem! I can't connect with 3G nor with 2G or anything. I can only make Calls and send SMS, but I can not get into Internet with my Service Provider after Cyanogen 6.1 (Froyo 2.2.1) Update. I can only use Internet with Wi-Fi, ONLY! that sucks!

I tried using APNdroid, the APN settings, the Internal phone settings. Nothing seems to work.

BTW I have an Unlocked version of HTC Magic 32A Rogers

Please, This is important, can anyone help?

I have a rogers 32a magic same here
i updated to a rom called froyorider
by Giant_rider at XDA
now no more data conectivity
i used apn settings from what i used on my old android phone it still doesn't work
i flashed a new rom called GBrider which is gingerbread but still doesn't work
even on 2.1 sense :\

Is there official Froyo update to Magic, or only rooting gives that chance?

T Mobile updated my buddies magic to Froyo OTA in last few days, and he is not happy with the performance, so yeah, Magic is being updated by some providers at least.
