Root No 3G or LTE on most recent AICP ROM

Hi,

I'm on Virgin Mobile and I upgraded from CM12 unofficial a few days ago to CM12.1. There was no LTE, so I figured I'd give another ROM a try and see if anything would come up. No LTE, but 3G worked just fine with LTE switched off. However, my APN settings were completely blank, I couldn't use the stock messaging app for sending or receiving MMS, as an error would keep popping up. I switched to GoSmsPro and MMS seemed to work better, but still not perfect. Anyway, I went to upgrade AICP to the latest 09 release, and upon powering it up, I went into settings and switched LTE on, just to test and see if it would work. I also went into the APN settings to find two options actually listed there. I selected the one that read something about LTE and then exited the menu, turned off my wireless internet, and waited for my data to turn on. Nothing happened. I went in and turned off LTE again, and still nothing happened. No 3G, nothing. My APN settings are now gone as well. Anyone have any ideas? Hopefully ones that wouldn't require me wiping my phone and starting with a fresh install of AICP?

Thanks in advance for your time!

Was you on 4.4.2 when you upgraded to cm12.1 and aicp cause sometimes on a older baseband data won't work on custom roms

I just flashed aicp and data works for me. You may have to reflash rom

There's an update that I'm in the process of downloading. Maybe dirty flashing THAT + gapps will change things.

Bit of an update, though: I went ahead and flashed the universal fix for VM and 3G now works, just so long as LTE is turned off. So at the very least I have 3G, but hopefully by the end of all this, I'll have both 3G AND LTE.

I buckled and wiped, then followed MadBat's instructions from the post linked above and it fixed the problem. Thanks to those who tried to help me with this issue. This thread can be closed now.

Id be interested to know if this works:

1. Wipe and flash ROM
2. Flash Gapps
3. Boot - let it set for about 5-10min
4. Reboot recovery and then flash the APM fix
5. Boot and give it a good 3-5min

See if that works

Il give that a shot and see. Maybe tomorrow. But I think I tried it (hard to remember).
I think I tried all combos of flashing and waiting, but like I said I may be mistaken.
P.s. those apn fixes have been the glue that holds the VM and boost s3 together with all cm and aosp roms. You, my friend, are a legend in my eyes. I think lots of ppl use your apn fix without knowing it was from you. Thanks bro.
