No 3G signal or data

My phone has been on Wifi all weekend, but I just noticed I'm not getting any signal if I turn off Wifi. I've tried rebooting the phone, but that didn't make any difference. Data is turned on in settings. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: After about an hour of no signal, it suddenly started working again. I've turned Wifi on and off a few times and 3G came back each time. (I don't live in a 4G area) I guess all I can do is keep an eye on it for a while.

Yeah, I tried that multiple times, along with rebooting but no luck. I started looking for a tech support phone number but about that time it started working again. It lasted at least 45 minutes, so I hope it was just a one time thing. My wifes Razr HD had a signal during the time mine was without.
 
Maybe you have to connect to the closest tower? Just google for it, I'm sure there are a million sites with instructions.
 
I am having the same problem. I powered on my phone and no data at all :(. I tried toggling the airplane mode, tried restarting the phone, enabled vzw location services. Can't think of anything else.

What exactly is the airplane trick?

Trick is just toggling airplane mode on and off to force it to reconnect without a reboot.
 
I'm having the same issue, none of this worked :(

Is there a system outage or something? While it would suck if it's true, it would at least be a reasonable explanation for the problem and means it's not my new phone...
