No Feedback When Charging

I kind of hate that the phone provides no feedback when charging: wake screen, LED, vibrate. Nothing.
 
What type of feedback do you need when it is charging? You can install lightflow or another app like that, which will blink the LED in a color when charging, and/or blink the LED in a different color when charging is done
 
Anything to signal charging has begun lol. Initially it wasn't even waking the screen so I'd have to turn it on just to make sure (maybe I'm OCD). It did wake the screen just now that I checked. But I swear it wasn't. I don't know what's real anymore... :(
 
There is a lightning bolt icon in the battery icon, but I think zetroc is asking about being able to see it without having to turn the screen on manually
 
I've been paying attention, and I am seeing the screen turn on when the phone is plugged it. But a quick vibration, or even the LED would be nice. It's just a matter of adjusting from what I am used to. Thanks friends!
 
I tried Settings/Sound/Other Sounds - select "Charging Sounds" - but it doesn't seem to do what I was hoping it would.
 
The behavior that I expect from my phone is to provide the little lightning bolt in the battery icon as well as a momentary screen overlay that says either "charging" or "turbo charging". Actually, it might be a "turbocharger detected". If the phone is not on, there is a large battery icon in the middle of the screen that shows the percent charged as well as a pulsing charging indicator. Anyway, does the pixel do at least this?
 
I tried it on my pixel - as soon as I plugged in my Google Charger to the wall outlet (after connecting the other end to my phone which was in standby mode), the screen turned on, and displayed "Charging rapidly" at the bottom of the screen. Screen then turned off in a few seconds (based on my screen timeout settings).
 
If mine is off when I plug it in, the lock screen turns on and says charging or charging rapidly. If the phone is already on, I just get the battery icon changing. No indication if its normal or rapid unless turn it off and back on to see the lock screen.
