Help No market?

Hi guys!

Just got my HTC Magic and I don't seem to have the market app in there...I noticed a few threads in other sections with solutions but couldn't seem to find one for the Magic.

I'm also located in Australia and I received this phone as a present. Unsure of whether it was purchased within Australia or from overseas...

I had the same issue. I bought an HTC magic from Amazon.com and it was an international unbranded version. I didn't have the market or google on it. I Emailed HTC and gave them my serial number and found out that the phone was destined for Indonesia and that the market isn't active there, so this version of the magic did not support the Market and wont until google decides to open up the market to that area.

If you want the Market get a phone that is destined for Europe (OEM) or a vodophone branded, but unlocked phone. The one you have wont support it.


I returned mine to Amazon and got another from www.exoticphone.com and I now have market.
