No Media Audio for Bluetooth Connected devices

I can pair by Bluetooth ear phones successfully and they were working for a time.

I do recall an OS update on the S8, but not 100% sure if this was before or after i was unable to use my Bluetooth devices for media audio.

When the earphones are first paired, they connect, then disconnect. The phone displays an message saying there was a problem, but the device is still listed in Bluetooth Settings.

When reconnected, the Phone Audio is enabled, but the media Audio is not. Whenever i enable it, it disables itself. Media Audio is played from the phones speaker instead of the earphones.

I can use the earphones for phone calls without any issue.

Has anyone come across something similar and managed to get this working?

My handset is running Android V.8.0.0

Sorry a few questions. So do you mean you went into Bluetooth settings for the headphones and ticked media audio? Have you tried unpairing and repairing? Have you always had the problem or has it only started since you upgraded to 8.0? If only after the update have you tried clearing data for settings in settings, apps? Is it an official update or a custom ROM? Last resort would be clear data on your phone and see if that gets rid of any conflicts between the old and new firmware. :)

That's correct, i cannot check 'Media Audio'
Yeah i've tried unpairing and reparining, still the same. The ear phones work fine on other phones,
Only had this problem since the upgrade, It is an official update.
I've just tried the last resort and reset the phone.
Still have the same issue.
Waiting for backup to restore now.

Soz for the delay. It's sounding like a firmware issue. Things like this are honestly the reason I don't like upgrading my phones to the next letter. I've always seen more downfalls than benefits. I guess it's because the phone was never designed to run that firmware. Or are they just trying to persuade you to upgrade your phone? Let's forget about that conspiracy. I hope the problem gets sorted in a firmware update.
