Help No mobile internet conenction Since 5.0.2 update

Hi

I'm having issues connecting to mobile internet on my HTC One M7. I haven't had a reliable connection for the past 3 weeks. I have recently been abroad to France and made use of Three's Feel at Home. The day of my return I also upgraded to Android 5.0.2. Since this date, I havent had access to mobile internet.

I have ran through the usual diagnostics. I've disconnected from mobile internet and reconnected, checked APN's, performed a soft reset, performed a factory reset. I spoke with Three over the phone and they suggested that it was likely a Sim issue and suggested I get a new one from a Three store.

Yesterday I swapped my Sim and I'm still having the same issues. If I turn off my mobile internet I will get a full connection, but this will only last for a few seconds. If I enter an area with a 4g reception I can see my phone trying to connect (icon changes to 4g) but still I don't have a connection. I've also noticed that Three are regularly blocking my connection and suggesting that I am tethering and to switch plans. This isn't the case however. I havent had tethering switched on since I purchased the phone and do not have it paired with any other devices.

I am reaching the point of frustration with this issue. I'm hoping you can get me sorted and back on the internet. Public transport is a killer without it!

Thanks

Josh

Unfortunately, it sounds like you've done pretty much everything I would suggest doing. :(

Do you have another phone you can check the SIMs in, just to rule out an issue with either of the SIMs you have?

I'm going to give my partners phone a try tonight and see if it's a sim issue. I spoke with HTC to see if they could help. They advised I try another carriers sim in my phone to see if I had the same issue. I used a friends O2 sim and it got a full connection so I can rule the phone out. HTC pointed me back towards Three who unfortunately just seem to be going back through the usual check APN's, reset etc. etc.

I think it could be 3UK's flawed tethering detection systems. Because the phone has been updated to Lollipop, 3UK is not recognizing what it is, are assuming it's a tethered PC, and are blocking the data. Have you tried using a different browser?

Hi

It isn't just my browser thats an issue. General internet traffic isn't being received. Theres a possibility it may be Three's tethering detection, as I do get a connection if I force one, it just doesnt last very long!

Was hoping it would just be me being a numpty and having some settings wrong somewhere. Looks like its going to be a lot of back and forth with Three!
