No more free ESPN texts for sprint customers..

Signed up fr game updates from ESPN, free text msgs...today was informed (via txt) that this will no longer be available for Sprint (nextel, boost and Virgin) customers...
Anyone know what gives?

anyone know another place to get free game updates via txt?

Yep, same issue here. So Sprint has alerts as well. I am trying that and Yahoo alerts seems to be very similar to ESPN alerts minus the breaking sports news. So since Sprint alerts has breaking sports news, I'll use Sprint for that and Yahoo alerts for game scores.

thanks, where do you sign up for the sprint alerts?
 
Ok, so the Sprint alerts arent very reliable. I do not get MLB updates, however CBS Sports has mobile alerts which are very close to ESPN alerts. The website is a bit strange but I have since switched over to CBS and things are good. The only major difference with MLB updates is that it can alert you to the start of the game, the 7th inning score and the final score thats it. Also, they do have a breaking news alert as well.

The app Yahoo Sportsacular is pretty cool. Much reliable than SportsTap.
