Help No Movie Sound

My shiny HOX will not play sound on 90% of the movies I drag into it. I have tried loads of movies and a few movie players too.
I was watching Chronicle yesterday, just as the kids were starting to get aggressive the sound went out of sync, the video kept pausing (with menu pop-up). This is the only movie I personally own that has worked.
I am transferring these from a external HD, drag n drop.

I have tried realplayer, mobo, double twist & gallery.

Have you tried MX Player? How are you encoding the videos? Handbrake does a straight DVD->Android convert I believe.

How are you encoding the videos?

I am not, i'm dragging the movie files I want to the 1X. It's worked, mostly, for my EVO, but not always. Didn't realsise I had to do anything..
I have just found a Handbrake how-to guide from last year, on this forum, i'd better check it out eh.

I tried MX before, it didn't work. I tried it again, after your suggestion.. then I noticed a tab that offered to convert.. it WORKED! We have lift-off.

I also tried Handbrake, but I didn't get very far with this. It's complicated, I got lost at the 'destination folder' part. I never know what to do at this point, I assume I create an empty file but I never know how to find what this files location is. I'm crap.

Still, now I can go to work and watch The Thing tonight. Cheers

Probably not intentional, but your middle paragraph made me laugh, sorry.

I've never used Handbrake so can't comment on ease of use, I'll need to give it a whirl at some point though.
