No Music and Video Player

Hi All.

I bought a new Moto G (Gen 2) today. While configuring it, I found that it doesn't have a music player, video player and file manager. Is that true or am I missing something? Do I have to get a third party app for this now? Please help.

Assuming you weren't ripped off with a fake and you a genuine device, is there no Play Music app on the device? Is it second hand?

It is a brand new first hand genuine device. Yes there is a play music app. But is it the only app for playing music? I mean Samsung devices come with their dedicated music app. And what about video player and file manager?

Motorola typically has nearly stock Android, and that means the Play Music is the stock player. The video player I think is part of gallery, so you play videos from there. For file manager, well from what I know Samsung is the only one with an inbuilt file manager. The other brands you have to get one.

I set up brand new original Moto G for someone a while back, and was also surprised at lack of dedicated video/music player or file manager. Installed Poweramp, MX Player, and ES File Explorer (I'd have installed them anyway, better than stock apps).

If a device is heading towards stock Android, the video player is part of the gallery, and not a separate app. A third-party file manager and/or a video player is always something can install if desired, e.g. ES Explorer , MX Player, etc.
