no native LDAP account

I have a Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.2. There doesnt seem to be a native LDAP account built in.

On my Samsung Galaxy II phone (4.1.2) and Galaxy Tab (4.4) there is a LDAP account in Settings - Accounts, which are part of the factory build.

Can anyone tell me why this is and if I can enable it. I know there are apps that can provide similar functionality, but I cant understand why there is no native LDAP account in the Nexus

If you're looking for a way to access the data in an LDAP database, there are pps in Play that will do it, or look at Application:Mobile Client-Android AddressBook - Mithiwiki

If you're looking to connect to a network using LDAP for the login to emulate a computer on that network, I don't know of any app that will.

I've tried some of those apps, They all seem to have some issues and don't seem as good as the native LDAP account I found installed on Samsung devices. I was hoping the LDAP account shipped with Samsung would have been available for download for other devices. Think I will have try the ones on Play store again
