Android Question

My phone is a Nexus 7 with Telus (Canada). For the last few months for some reason when I'm using the wifi connection at work, my phone doesn't get push notifications. It will get text message notifications but it won't notify me of tweets, emails, facebook messages, google chat etc. However, it gets these notifications through wifi just fine anywhere else except work! The minute I leave the building my phone goes crazy with every notification I've received throughout the day. I can turn off wifi and leave it on 3G all day to get my push notifications, but I hate using data unnecessarily when there is a wifi connection. Is there anything I can do on my phone to fix this or is it a weird with my work's wifi connection? Everyone else in my lab with androids gets their push notifications no problem on the same wifi network. Thanks in advance for any insight! :)

Hello and Welcome to Android Forums!

A couple things come to mind here.
First thing you need to check is if you have data connectivity at all when you are connected to that wifi network, check facebook, open browser and see if you can go somewhere MSN.com or something. If you do not have data this is the key to your issue. You will need to verify you have a proper IP address on your phone and for some reason your phone could have gotten blocked on the network.

Is it is blocked on the network that is a question for your computer dept.

I hope this helps, if not please post your finding in another question post here or feel free to join the forum and continue this thread!

Thanks
Willis
