No quick charge

I have yet to see where it says my phone is in quick charge on my stylo 5. I cannot seem to find a setting to turn qc on or off either. How do i know its fast charging? Does it say rapidly charging like most phones? I have tried many different chargers also. Ive even downloaded the app Ampere to measure the input charge amps and the highest it got was about 1000 mA. That was with a home charger. The highest reading with a car charger was around 700 mA and it fluctuated from that down to 210 mA. I want my phone to fast charge!

Do you have a Quick Charge compatible charger? This is a budget phone, and I have heard of phones that support fast charging being sold with lower-end chargers. 1A sounds like a very basic home charger (I'd expect the car charger to be weak), but it's also possible that that's all the phone will accept.

Trying to find out whether this phone does support fast charging produces a muddled picture. Some sources say that it supports QC3.0, others that it doesn't support quick charging at all. The LG US site says nothing about quick charging (it's not listed on the UK site at all). Does your user manual say anything? Not all phones that have fast charging have an option to turn it off: my Pixel 2 hasn't, so if I don't want to use fast charging I have to use a charger that doesn't support it. Hence the absence of an option in the settings isn't a definitive test of whether the phone supports it or not.

In any event, there is no trick: if you have a QuickCharge compatible charger and use that, the phone will fast charge if it supports it. If the phone doesn't support it then nothing you do will make it fast charge.

Ive seen many places that it is QC 3.0 compatible. Ive been doing a lot of reading on this. If i understand it right i need to get a charger with the highest wattage output i can find right? And is there a cable that i need that is QC 3.0 as well? Or any decent usb cable? Thank you for your help btw

Yeah, I've seen it in various places, but I also found some that specifically said not. That's why I was uncommital. The fact that the SoC supports it does not in itself ensure that the phone does.

What you want is a charger that is specifically QC3.0 compatible, not just the highest wattage thing you can find (QC3 doesn't support anything more than 18W, so beyond that point a more powerful charger would not charge faster anyway). In principle you shouldn't need any special cable, though USB cables can be a bit variable: I've had cables which will work for charging but not data transfer, and cables which will only charge slowly no matter what you connect them to (that one actually came with a QC2.0-compatible charger - I assume it was a faulty cable, but couldn't be bothered getting it replaced).

They Are sold with a quick charger. It will charge from a dead battery in about an hour or so using the stock wall adaptor and cable that the phone is sold with. I have two Stylo 5 phones in use in my home.
