Look at the coverage map for your area. I have driven all over California + Las Vegas with absolutely no problems.

NYC, SF, Detroit, Milwaukee, LA are the last places I went to and I had service with no problem.

Nope, no roaming. I don't believe any of the no contract carriers offer roaming.

I'm currently on vacation.. went from Seattle Washington to Chicago Illinois. I lost service completely in Montana through South Dakota and just about all the way through Minnesota. I was just about on the Wisconsin state line when I got service back.

Driving from Chicago to Memphis I had excellent service, and from Memphis to New Orleans the same. From New Orleans to San Antonio I think I lost service for about 10 minutes.

Boulder Colorado is next and from there we're back to Chicago. We'll see how service goes for that trip!

Gee, as much as I don't wanna be the devil's advocate: If you can't afford a different carrier, how can you afford to travel to a place where you'll need roaming? I think the gist of my post is: Do your research before buying. If you make a mistake, return the item and refrain from bitching here and posting about how much something sucks because you didn't do your homework. Also, Firefox has a built in spell checker. That won't help with grammar and structure, but it's a start.

Keep in mind you are not paying premium price, so your not going to get premium service. When signing up, you should have seen that VM does not offer roaming to there service, you will get service wherever there is a dedicated Sprint Service tower.

Agreed. :)
Was just an out of character post for you, so it threw me off a bit.
I've never understood why people don't take a few minutes to research what they purchase. Then, when they realize their purchase wasn't right for them, they come to places like this and scream about it. It gets old.

Rant over, soapbox disassembled. :)
