No send button when replying to text msg

When I get a text message, and click to reply, I do not see a "send" button. Only the text box to enter the message into, and the little attachment "paper clip" show up. Landscape/portrait makes no difference. The only way to send the message is to back out to the text messages where I see the red "draft" note, and then go back in again. Then the send button appears where I expect it to.

One note, I do use a keyboard replacement called "Thick Keys", I'm not sure if that has some effect on it? But the send button is above the keyboard, so I'm thinking it shouldn't be affected.

get rid of that app and download the GINGERBREAD KEYBOARD, works really really well. I hated hated hated the stock keyboard and this was suggested here when I searched. Good luck.
