no service

my phone says it has no service and its says on the front "insert metropcs SIM emergency calls only"what does that mean?

Hi, and welcome.

It is not detecting a SIM card, but will allow you to call 911.

Make sure the SIM card is there, and if it is, try re-inserting it and rebooting the phone.

if that doesn't work, I would contact Metro PCS customer service.
