No signal with new android box

Hello all,

Just bought a fomo stream fs1 mini android smart tv box. I cannot seem to get this thing going on my old non hdmi tv. I bought this HDMI to composite converter {picture attached}, hooked everything up and it was working on and off initially, 5 minutes working , then no signal, then it would come back for a minute then gone again, and finally now no signal at all since last night. So i took the android box and tested it on a different tv which has the HDMI port and all worked just fine. Problem is I can't get it to work on the older TV, even with the hdmi to composite converter. The fact that it did come on a few times tells me it's possible though. The old tv is a 48" LG plasma, from around 2003. Any suggestions aside from buying a new tv??

My only other thought is that the Plasma can't handle 1080. Is there a setting on the box to only output 720p?

Acording to the package, it has 720 built in, along with others
Can you limit the output to 720 though? AFAIK HDMI will do a type of handshake between the source end destination and match out the output. I don't think that happens with composite. If you can set the tv box to limit the output to 720 you eliminate the need for that.

There are no settings or switches for various outputs on the box iteself, although it may be possible through the settings menu, problem is I can't get it up and running to get into the settings menu lol. I may have to bite the bullett and buy a new tv with an HDMI port. My wife is going to kill me for sure.

You don't possibly have a computer monitor around with an HDMI input that you could connect the box to in order to check the settings. If you could make the change attached to something else it should keep when you disconnect it and attach it to the plasma.

No, I don't unfortunately. Being this did work momentarilly a couple times I'm wondering if the issue is within the HDMI to composite adapter itself, or if it's a wifi issue. Are all these hdmi to composite adapters created somewhat equal?
