No Sim card detected. Restart device. Sim card detected. Restart device.

This happens daily now. It goes away, them It happens again, usually back to back. I'm forced to restart each time. Is anyone else dealing with this? It's so frustrating because I use it for work. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had the same problem...I took out the Sim card tray....put it back in ...and perhaps there was dust in there.....the problem has not returned

Sim card tray? On the note 5? Where do I find it?

Right here!!! Use the metal pin that came in your box, and insert it in that little hole on the left side of your phone.....if you are looking at it from the front.

Push the pin and the Sim card tray will come out ....clean it if dusty , re- insert it like I did

Thanks. I took it to t-mobile since I lost that thing. They removed and installed it. Still have the same problem. Maybe it's software? I might have to bring it in and swap it.

Since May 10, 2016, Verizon has an update that purports to fix the No SIM Card message:

Current Software Update Benefits
Software Version: MMB29K.N920VVRU2BPD4

This software update brings the latest Android™ security patches, a fix to false "No SIM card detected" error messages and improves audio routing for incoming video and voice calls.

New SIM card detection software fixes false "No SIM card detected" pop-up notifications.

You can now answer video calls as just a voice call, and when you do, call audio is routed to the earpiece by default.
