I updated my Samsung at&t i897 to 4.0.3, before that i was using 2.3.5 and every thing was fine.
After the update everything is working fine expect my sim card,(no service)
I have tried 2,3 networks but results are same.

when i restart the phone it shows network name for 5 secs. after that no service and emergency calls.
Please Help.
Thanks in Advance

Welcome, and sorry about your issue. Was this update an offical one from Samsung or your carrier, or one that you pushed to the phone after rooting? The reason I ask is because many of the unoffical ROM updates are known to have issues with the radio (your problem) or Bluetooth. Also, if you didn't clear (AKA, "wipe") data before installing, you are almost guaranteed to have a problem. My advice is to try the easy stuff first - boot into recovery, wipe cache partition, wipe data/reset, and then let the phone reboot. Fixed? Good, then reinstall your apps and enjoy! Not fixed? Wipe cache and data again, and reflash the ROM. If you still have issues at that point, I suggest you sign-up as a member and post to the Captivate All Things Root sub-forum, where you will be able to have 2x dialogue with others.

Of course, if your phone is not rooted, disregard the foregoing and by all means, feel free to make another guest post with further details, or sign-up and post to the Captivate forum.
