I have an LG G3 and use the stock messaging app. I would prefer to use the stock app for messages but I may have to switch as this bugs me:
My phone will not push notifications for new messages from someone if the SMS application is running and their conversation is open.
For example: If I am messaging a friend, Bob, and leave his conversation open and my phone sleeps (and even when it's not sleeping) I wont receive a notification telling me Bob replied. However If I close the app, or switch to a different app it will push the notification. I will still get pushed notifications if another person, say James, texted me. This is problematic as its most common to reply to a text and put the phone down, but this way, I easily get distracted with something else and forget to check for a new reply because there's no notification.
Does anyone else have this issue with android phones in general or the LG G3?
