Help No Sound & No Mic

This happened once before and I thought it was a fluke but now it's happened a second time and I'm fearing it's a bug.

My phone has lost all sound and the mic does not pick up anything.

When this happens no sound of any kind is emitted; no notification pings, no phone rings, no music playback. Also, the microphone does not recognize any sound, no matter which route to the microphone you take. OK Google doesn't work either.

Powering off the phone and rebooting it seems to reset it.

I have not been using a third party app when this has happened.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I had the same problem with a different device . Now i no the head phone jack isn't damage . But think its software not hardware . I have to use a application to get the sound to give me feed back . I also have changed the test mode file get it to work but the settings go back once i reboot.
