no sound on notification

[Android Question]

I have Samsung galaxy s3 and when someone sends me a txt message the notification sound doesn't work. but when I choose one and test it it works fine. all volume is on and working ok. phone call notification works fine its just txt message notification sounds ?

Hi and welcome to Android Forums.

It might sound silly, but check in the app itself that the app is set to send you an audible notification, especially if it is an after-market app you are using for your SMS service.
