No storage space, have very little stored on phone

I went into settings - storage manager and it says the amount of things I have on my phone doesn't amount to much yet my storage is almost capped out, I've even deleated/uninstalled a bunch of things and the storage space stays the same

Firstly you need to ditch using the Samsung analysis app as the data it shows is not very accurate.

Try using a file browser such as Solid Explorer, I believe you get a weeks trial to try it out.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2
  1. Fire up Solid Explorer and with the main directory displayed,
  2. Select the 3 dot options menu on the top right and pick Properties,
  3. Let it perform a scan of your files,
  4. Once complete you have several tabs at the top of the screen to see were all your data has gone.
The content tab is your first stop as it lists the largest offending folders, then the file types tab will break it down into the largest images, videos etc followed by the top 20 tab which will list the largest actual files on your phone.

The great thing about these tabs is you can interactive with the data there and then and delete the offending files if you so wish.

Oh. My. God. Thank you so much. I use castbox to listen to podcasts and for some reason it started to download as many podcasts as it could until it kept running me down to 1.5G of storage space. I found tons of downloaded content from there. I don't even remember enabling this. I downloaded a different file explorer to manage my files but it never picked up on that folder but the app you suggested found it. I now have 40G of space opposed to the 1.5 I've been having. Thanks again!

Not a problem, glad to be of help Anthony.

I have a similar issue with Amazon Music, I download lots of playlists for the car and work. I manage them by deleting them, and they disappear from the app. However I find that it's not deleted the data and is bluming hogging 10 or 15gb of space every couple of months!
