No tech abilities...desperate to flash R530m so I can REUSE w/ metro

I've looked & looked & looked and I'm unable to find... or figure out how to flash a MetroPCS Galaxy S3. I dropped it in canal while filming giant gator... Watched out float away. Replaced with insurance & 20 sumin days later a man out fishing found it. IN PERFECT condition, I might add. Anyway I immediately called ins people and asked if I could return the replacement I'd just gotten... DENIED. So it's in prefect condition but locked. (btw it was in an otterbox, fully submerged for 20+ days & there's absolutely nothing wrong with it... white water sticker is still white)!!!
I just wanna use it on the Metro service... but again it's locked.
I have no clue about all the tech terms everyone uses on here... so that's making my help search even more difficult.
If anyone knows exactly what I need to do to just reuse this phone on metro... and detailed steps I need to take, I'd be forever grateful for your help.

Also... Flashing it is the same thing as unlocking it ... yes? I mean if I'm not switching carriers...

Unfortunately, as a blanket rule, that's not an issue we can provide any help with here. As I'm sure you can appreciate, such instructions (once posted on this site) could also be used by less scrupulous individuals to defraud their insurance companies, by claiming their phones as lost and then unblocking them.
