Root No video after boot chime - brick?

I seem to have bricked my video pretty well and a CAB flash did not bring me back. As far as I can tell, this was due to trying to flash a custom boot animation in AOKP42 preview 2/28. I've pulled files from Joel Perry's (remember that guy? still out there Joel?) LGNPST-restore file repo, but I've never done a TOT recovery. Worth a shot? Anyone have a step-by-step/guide handy?

Also open to other suggestions... Phone does show the LG logo (twice, like normal) during boot... then plays LG/VZW start up chime. From that point on, the screen is blank. If I power it down and plug in to a wall charger, it does have video for the charging animation. Ideas? Anyone know what the AOKP "change boot anim" process might have (over)written that a CAB flash wouldn't restore or am I chasing a ghost?

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

It should have just placed bootanimation.zip in /data/local

That file wouldn't get overwritten or removed during a cab flash unless you factory reset.

If you are cab filing back and you get a boot issue, then my first question is have you done a data reset? As much as it sucks to lose info, it is probably your quickest and easiest fix at this point. Also, because you cab flashed, you lost CWM recovery, which would have been a potentially better way to fix the bad file.

Yeah, thanks all. I keep everything TiBu backed up to GDrive, so a data reset is just no big deal. I couldn't get video to do a data reset at first, but I guess I smacked the phone around enough to wake it up...

FWIW, looks like it may not have been bootanim related... After reloading and cracking flashing some more, I went in to factory reset within AOKP42's menus and ended up in a boot loop.
