No VM coverage at Grand Canyon Village

RC313

Lurker
I was just there (Grand Canyon Village, south rim) with my Optimus V, and there was zero coverage. My wife's tracfone worked and had a strong signal, but Virgin Mobile (as their map admittedly shows) provided no service at all. Considering the place gets 4 million visitors a year, and there is a safety factor, it was a bit disappointing. I saw people on all kinds of smart and dumb phones talking and surfing, but mine was a paperweight.

On the bright side however, I have been getting fairly reliable 3G data for the last couple of weeks in San Diego County.

Such is life with a discount service I suppose.

Its a discount service but technically your on the Sprint network and I think thats odd that they dont cover that area.

I was in Tusayan this month. My Virgin Mobile Triumph phone had no coverage, although that is no surprise. The waiter at the restaurant said only Verizon and occasionally ATT phones worked there.
