Hey guys/Gals..
My son tried his first Rom install but it didn't work so well.It removed the WiFi internet:o .He can't connent to internet and when he tries to connect to it says WiFi error. We did a factory reset but now even with the reset it still can't .There is no WiFi on tablet at all now ..I was thinking if I install froyo 2.2 on it would that put the Wifi back on the tablet. Before he put the new Rom on it " it had GB 2.3.1 " so i figured if I put and earlier version android system on it maybe it would put the Wifi on the tablet again.

Also If u think this will work can anyone help me find the Froyo 2.2.1 install..any help would be helpful...thank u :)

I'm not familiar with this particular tablet. Where did your son find the ROM he installed? If there is a forum for this ROM, I would see if others running this ROM are having this same issue. This could be a bug in the ROM. Did your son do a backup of the original ROM? If he did you should be able to load it to go back to the original ROM.

hey thanks for the reply..Unfortunately he doesn't remember but he thinks he put a phone rom on it because now it shows a phone dialer on the screen and when u touch it ''it shows up for u to dial a number.. So thats why I wanted to install the Froyo 2.2 firware maybe that would put WIFI back on it ....What do u think??????????????

And no he didn't do a backup
He's only 12yrs old and trying to learn on his own...lol lol

It's weird it even boots up if a phone ROM was installed. I'm not finding anything here for your tablet. You could try going over to the XDA-Developers site and see if they have a ROM for your tablet. It may not be Froyo but as long as it's for your model tablet is should work.

It's quite possible boot a phone ROM on a tablet if they've got the same chip-set and based on similar reference designs. The only real difference between a phone and a tablet is the screen size, and one has a cellular radio, along with necessary components for cellphone functionality.

However the real problem here is this particular ROM has the wrong WiFi driver for the tablet's hardware. So one has to try and locate the original manufacturer's ROM, which may not be possible. Failing that try and find a ROM that is built to run and support the same hardware. Maybe try and find what chip-set it uses, like if it's MTK6577, then look on sites like XDA and Googling of course.
