Help .nomedia folder STILL SHOWS UP in gallery, HELP?

[Android Question]

So I've read everywhere about making a ".nomedia" folder for photos and album art and video to not come up in android gallery. I made the folder on the SD card and when I open my gallery...BOOM, second one at the top ".nomedia"

How can I get this folder to NOT show up in my gallery?

".nomedia" is supposed to be a blank file, not a folder. And you have to reboot after creating and placing for it to take effect.
