Root Noobish question.

I just had a quick inquiry about the All In One Root package.

As far as rooting goes, I am coming from a DX2 which I rooted fairly easily with no issues. My goal in rooting the phone would simply just to freeze apps I don't want/use. I have no desire to use custom ROM's. I only use Home Replacement apps and Supercharger scripts and such.

As far as rooting on the Spectrum it seems and correct me if I'm wrong but rooting with this package requires CWM Recovery?

Is it possible to just root, freeze apps and for OTA updates, just unfreeze and unroot?

the package includes CWM recovery but its not required to run it.

yes, the root and recovery one click gives you the option to root without changing the recovery.

There are 5 or so selections when you run the program. One is root, another is 'root and cwm'. You can root with or without installing cwm, which will allow you to freeze apps.
