NOOK HD or Kindle Fire HD?

I'm a complete newbie in android devices but want a good reader with the possibility to read books and magazines, run apps, and watch video. Can you help me with advice please, which tablet I should choose: new Nook Hd or Kindle Fire?

I'd check out the Nexus 7. I don't know where in the world you are, but some retailers are selling it (like Staples) and you can go play with it in the stores. It's a full, unmitigated tablet experience that is guaranteed to receive future software enhancements.

While I love my N7, if you're looking for the largest amount of content to consume (books, magazines, movies), the Kindle Fire is a great option. The N7 does a lot of this and more, but may be a little trickier to set up for someone new to Android.
