Help Not able to connect to 3g. Just EDGE on AT&T US

I bought an internationally unlocked LT18a. Carrier: AT&T in Boston. I entered the APN as per the instructions for ATT 3G connection, but i am only getting EDGE. No 3G or 4G HSPA. I read on some other forums that this is a known issue with internationally unlocked phones with US carriers At&t and T-mobile.
Please let me know if there is an update or a fix available to connect to 3G.

Thanks

Just to confirm, go Menu>Settings>About Phone>Model Number. Check there if it says LT18 "i" or "a". Also try this Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile networks>Network Mode. There verify that you have selected either WCDMA only or WCDMA (preferred)/GSM.

Thanks for the reply.
I checked the model number. It is LT18i. Sorry!
Also the Network mode is set to GSM only and works for WCDMA (Preferred) / GSM. But if i change it to WCDMA, i loose the cellular radio. Im any case, the best i could do is to get EDGE.

Sorry to say but that is right, with this model you won't get 3G signal with AT&T for this you need to have the "a" model. Best choice would be if you purchased it recently try to contact the vendor to see if possible to replace it with the "a" version instead.
