Help Not able to save contacts

i have often experienced this issue.

after dialing any phone number and trying to save that number from call log to existing contact it is not working. Means, it tries to open the contact but giving error.

did any one has experienced this issue and like to hear your views or corrective measures.

sorry not had that one ,but sounds like a fault like so many other things on this phone
