Not Charging with Charger USB Cable

Done a little research on this and found that there is a main cause, along with others, about the Samsungs, and other manufacturers, that have trouble with charging.

When plugged in, it will initially say the phone is charging, however, it immediately stops charging, as if the cable is unplugged. Move the charger up and the device begins charging again.

Most of this problem is due to having an Otterbox Defender series case where the charger flap presses on the cable bending it and not being able to keep contact with the phone's charger port.

Aside from purchasing a new cable, I've found this tutorial to be quite helpful at fixing the problem. All you need is a set of needle nose pliers and slightly crimp the charger cable where it plugs into the port on the phone. Relatively easy, doesn't need much force. This is a temporary fix until switching to a different case or going to wireless charging.
