"Not Enough Storage Available"?!?!?!?!

I have been getting this error a lot lately. this most recent one popped up for Google Drive updates and while I attempted to download Chrome. Here's a screen shot of my internal storage available, and I have a 32gig MicroSD card in my EVO 3D. What gives?

Many apps – Chrome is one of them – need to be installed in internal memory, not on the SDcard, to be able to work. Your device also uses the available space in its internal memory as RAM to run active apps in. When it does that space is obviously not available at the same time for new installations. FYI: Chrome requires 65MB of installed space. Also, many apps temporarily require a couple times their size in RAM space during installation (they shrink again when finished/installed). So that space must be available to enable that app's installation. And, in your case, it does not appear to be.

If you haven't done so already I recommend you free up internal memory by moving all apps that can be moved to your SDcard. The free app "App 2 SD" can help you with that. It also clears caches. When you've done both, and shut down any active apps to free up RAM/internal memory space, I would retry to install Chrome on that device.

Let us know how you fare.

I'm just curious, but does App2SD move some apps that the built in option won't move?

Thnx.

I had a similar problem with a Samsung Tab 2.
A message kept coming up, "not enough storage space..."
I had 3.4 GB of videos stored and was unable to open my "Gallery". Also, I was unable use my camera and was unable to delete the unwanted videos that were gunking up my tablet.
Samsung support directed me to do the following.
- Press to open the "Apps" icon on the home page
- Press to open "My Files"
- Press to open "sdcard0"
- Press to open "DCIM"
- Press to open "Camera"
At this point all our photos and videos will be listed.
- Check the box beside the videos you want to delete.
- Press the " trash can" icon at the top of the screen
- And - Poof- those videos are gone
If you delete enough videos and open up enough space your camera and "Gallery" should be operational again
