Android Question

Hello
my galaxy keeps telling me that it is short of internal memory. This usually happen when i install new app. However I have directed all the installation of apps to SD and there is 1.4 GB free on SD and the same on internal memory. The only place where it seems to short of memory is the sys memory where there is only 15MB free. Ant suggestions how to over come this problem? my phone is still unrooted.
Thanks

Welcome to Android Forums!

There are several things you can do to free up space. You can go into settings->application manager. If you go to All Apps and sort them by size it will show you the biggest offenders. You can go through these and clear cache on them, but this is only a temporary fix, as the caches will fill up again. You can delete app data, but this will throw out all of your info from that app. Logins, game progress, things like that.

One of the biggest ones on my phones is Dialer Storage. This is where all of the SMS/MMS are stored. If you send or receive lots of pictures, this can get pretty big. What I do to shrink it is go through my MMS, save the pictures to my SD card, and then delete the messages.

I hope this helps! If not, there are two avenues: You can re-submit your question with additional info the same way you submitted this one, or you can join the forums for a better back and forth exchange of info.
