Help Not getting text message notifications

For some reason now I do not get the notification that I have a text message. I've checked all the settings check the sound and everything that's simple so
I don't need to be bothered with answers like that. However I do get the text message but the only way I know is if I go to the inbox and see I have a new one. No sound or notification at the top of the screen. Someone please help this is extremely annoying.

I too am having this issue just as of recently. I am not receiving the notification for standard SMS or google voice SMS. Terribly frustrating. Help would be greatly appreciated.
