Not receiving email on my S3

Hello,

Just purchaased the S3 on Dec 28th. I set up my gmail account, my cox.net account and my yahoo account. They were all set up properly...nut I am not receiving any emails...when I check my accounts online with my laptop or is MS Outlook I am receiving emails.

Just this morning there were no emails on my phone....so I wont to cox.net to check my email account on my laptop and I had 7 emails, my gmail had 3.

Why are the emails not going to my phone?
 
Is sync turned on? Go to android settings > accounts and go into each and ensure sync is on.

Then go into both the Gmail app and email app and check the settings there for each account

thanks..that got it..i was aware of the sync but thought it meant something else so i left it "unchecked".
