Guys is it okay to left Note 4 on charging over night ?
I have read alot about battery and I came to know that now smartphones have built in feature that disconnect the charger when battery is fully charged.
I hope so it should be present in Note 4.
Kindly provide source.
I have searched on Samsung official note 4 site but didnot found anything like that.
Thank you

yes, all of the last generation of cellphones have builtin charge regulators that throttle back the charging current when the battery is at full charge. I leave mine on the Qi charger all night long, and it has never hurt it. I was just reading an article addressing that very feature this past week. It is was in a Technical Newsletter somewhere.

I will be greatly kindful to you if you can provide me with the link?
Thank you

From what I have read:
1. Modern batteries cannot really be damaged by charging other than the fact that the battery can only chemically change state so many times before things start to break down. Thus, you will eventually have to replace the battery, but when you need to do that will depend on how heavily you use the phone.
2. As mentioned above there is a charging circuit in the phone which protects the battery. When the battery reaches fully charged state the charging current will be turned off until the battery drops to 95% (or perhaps 90%). The display will nevertheless read 100% charged. This is why the phone always discharges quickly for the first 5-10% (since the battery was not really fully charged).

I have my phone on charge all night every night and use my phone pretty hard. My battery is showing normal wear for a one year old device. I can still easily get a fully day of use so long as I don't have the screen on 90% of the time (which is common for me).

Regards,
Eric.
