Note 4 lags - otherwise brilliant...

Has Samsung done enough to improve the TouchWiz ? especially from the "lag" point of view.

I love this phone and I believe that it is a killer machine but when it comes to software experience and the lag it presents in transitioning and moving between apps etc., it kills the whole experience.

Do you agree or do you think it is minimal and ignorable ?

Regarding the lag you are experiencing have you turned off the Window animation, Transition animation and Animator duration scales at Settings / General / Developer options? If not, it may help to do so.

Well that has definitely made a difference. Thanks for the tip.

I will continue using it for a few days and will see if it makes a difference in overall user experience.

Might wanna try setting those values to 0.5,most have found that is the "SWEET-SPOT".
At times, the setting value of 0.0 can have just as bad an effect,or,more precisely, perceived bad effect.
While the transitions may actually be faster, the 0.0 setting will seem to cause stuttering/lag to the human eye.

Thanks - will try it with 0 for few days and then with 0.5 as well. I will see if there is any difference. Thanks for the tip.

I have had this problem since day 1 (November 2014). Setting animation scale, etc to 0.5 did not really help. I did just upgrade to Lollipop (AT&T), and that has made a large improvement. Huge download, though!

I have had Lollipop for a week now, and if anything, the phone is slightly faster now than just after the update. Battery life has improved over the week also. I never had a real problem since I got the Note (upgraded from an S3 with a humongous third-party battery), but I get through a typical heavy use day now with two thirds of the battery capacity left. Other users have reported some battery problems with the update, so your mileage may vary.

I did not have a chance to try Lollipop on it. I am a tech-blogger and frequently change my mobiles to try new handsets and their features. I have now got the Nexus 6 which is a little less laggier than the Note 4. Thanks for your feedback though...
