Help Note 4 T-Mobile Data Problem

Newbie
I have a white Note 4 from T-Mobile and I've been using the phone for about five months. I noticed since then that my data connection has been slow, compared to my friend's Note 4 (black, he also has T-Mobile). I have the latest Kitkat firmware and everything on my phone is updated.

The screenshot was taken from my phone and the server around the Los Angeles area. When I tested my and my friend's phone, I made sure that we're testing on the same server and network mode, so we're both on LTE. I tested them at the same time, and I would get that result above, but my friend's phone would get around 70 ms, 11.xx mbps, and 16.xx mbps.

Is there are solution to this? Maybe it'll get fixed when I update to Lollipop, but me and my friend are using the same Kitkat version, I don't know. This is really getting into me because I don't have very good wi-fi connection at my house, so I rely mostly on my phone. If anything I'll return the phone and get another one. But before that, I need your help first. Thanks.

Speed tests are not reliable. Don't trust them. In reality, they don't test *your* connection, actually test the *entire* connection from phone to server, which often means 20-30 'hops' and thousands of miles. Run traceroute on a few sites and be amazed.

Also, unless the phones are configured exactly alike you may get different results. I doubt there's anything wrong with your phone.

That said, if speed tests can be trusted at all (and they may be somewhat useful as a baseline) I typically get much better ping times and speed on T-Mobile here in Kansas City.
