Note 4 to S8 ROM?

My unlocked Note 4 has the S7 Nougat Rom. The phone thinks it is a model SM-G935T.

Does anyone know if I can upgrade from here to the S8 Rom?
 
Presumably it's been rooted and someone has installed a port of a newer Samsung ROM. If so then the answer to your question depends on whether anyone has ported a more recent one to that device.

(You cannot install an unmodified ROM from another device, even another Samsung - hence the question of whether someone has made a port of the ROM is vital).

I assume you are not the first owner of this phone, or else you would know this already (since you would have made the modifications in the first place).
 
You are correct. The previous owner rooted the phone and installed Android 6.

Do you know if the phone can be upgraded to Android 7 or even 8?
 
Not officially. You would need to look for an unofficial ROM built on Android 8 specifically for your device, then you would need to use a PC program called Odin to flash this file onto your phone.
 
There are unofficial ROMs for taking a Galaxy S7 to Android 7 and Android 8, but not sure if they will work on a Note 4 that "thinks it is an S7"

It won't. Those will turn your phone into a paperweight. Forget the thinks it's an S7 part. You are looking for an unofficial ROM to take a Note 4 to Android 8.
