Note 5 Random Boot Maintenance Screen Popping up

XJBluto

Lurker
Brand New VZW Note 5. Couple of times a day, my Boot Maintenance screen shows up. Not sure why this is happening. I have to use the volume button to toggle to the reboot normal choice and then select via the power button to escape from the Boot screen. I thought you had to access this by powering off and powering on by holding the volume up and power buttons together during restart. What gives? No idea how to stop this annoyance.

Next time you find yourself in the maintenance screen/menu,wipe the cache partition before rebooting back to normal.
If this doesn't do the trick, try running in safe mode to see if an app you've downloaded is causing this.
If this persists in safe mode (no d/l apps active),a factory reset is in order.I don't like recommending the latter any more than you probably dread doing it,but, that's what VZW/Samsung will have you do before taking it to RMA status.
Please keep us posted on your outcome. :thumbsupdroid:

Wiping Cache is not one of the 5 options. Did a factory reset and problem persists. Called Verizon. They're sending a new replacement overnight. Now for the hassle of reinstalling and tweaking my phone ALL OVER again.
Thanks.
